Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases here ran on TV for the first time over the weekend. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, ranked by SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, "Halo 5: Guardians" gets a spooky space-age trailer. In a Bose spot, the Zac Brown Band amps up Houston Texan J.J. Watt for the game with locker room antics, including spraying water in his face and smashing a guitar on his locker.
Nissan's "Heisman House" residents Jim Plunkett and Herschel Walker are hanging out on the lawn when Joe Theismann shows up on a tour bus. The two winners are ready to put the past behind them, but Mr. Theismann isn't having it. (In 1970, Mr. Plunkett beat Mr. Theismann for the coveted football trophy.)
