Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases here ran on TV for the first time over the weekend. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, ranked by SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, Weight Watchers serves up its latest ad in the "World of Food" series (E.J. Schultz has more on the campaign) -- this time depicting the temptation of late-night snacking through a couch made of chips to promote its on-demand weight loss support -- while Samsung shows off its screens and pushes a free Netflix subscription with select purchases. And McDonald's cheery new spot brings archenemies together, putting a smile on both Batman and the Joker's faces and pulling Democrats and Republicans into an embrace. (Maureen Morrison has the story on McDonald's new brand vision.)
