Watch Stephen Colbert's Epic Sign-Off, With Alex Trebek in the Back of Santa's Sleigh

Plus: A Massive Celebrity Singalong

By Published on .

Stephen Colbert concluded a nine-year run playing a charismatic conservative commentator named "Stephen Colbert" last night, wrapping up his Comedy Central series in preparation to succeed David Letterman on CBS's "Late Show" next spring.

And despite the ominous booking of Grimmy, the Grim Reaper, as the only guest on the show's last night, Mr. Colbert's character wasn't so much killed off as bundled into the back of Santa's sleigh (with a seat next to Alex Trebek).

After a massive celebrity singalong, the final, final goodbye starts about 6 minutes in. Mr. Letterman's final episode of the "Late Show" will air on Wed., May 20, CBS said last week.
