Here's The New Yorker's Powerful Charleston Cover

By Published on .

The cover of next week's New Yorker is a powerful reference to the mass shooting that killed nine people on Wednesday, June 17, at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. "It's distressing contemplating another story like this," artist Barry Blitt said of the shootings. The issue, with a cover titled "Nine" in reference to the victims of the shooting, goes on sale Monday.
