The merger creates the No. 2 shop in the Milwaukee area. Both parties' estimated combined billings for 1995 would be more than $80 million. Separately, BVK had billings of $56 million and McDonald $26 million.
"Dick [McDonald] called me a month ago, and we started talking," said Michael Voss, CEO of the new BKV/McDonald. "We get involved in a lot of different things such as interactive marketing 800 [number] consulting. They were moving into it but said it would have cost them a fortune."
Mr. McDonald will become a partner in the new agency. Don Birdsall and Jerry Kloppenburg will also be named partners. The new agency will have about 95 employees in Glendale, a suburb of Milwaukee, and another 30 at existing offices in Atlanta; Kansas City, Mo.; San Diego; Los Angeles; Sacramento, Calif.; and Little Rock, Ark.
The new agency's clients include Budgetel, Kimberly-Clark Corp., U.S. Air Vacations and Simplicity Manufacturing.
