24/7 Media sets up wireless site network

Published on .

Online ad network and ad-serving company 24/7 Media created a network of wireless content providers for advertisers. The company claims its initial network of 31 content providers across nine European countries will enable advertisers to mount cross-market Wireless Application Protocol and Short Message Service campaigns via multiple sites. Its wireless ad server will deliver campaigns simultaneously to targeted users. Wireless sites in the network include Sonera Zed, Sportal, dressmart.com, WAPTOO, MatchON.com, Kauppalehti Online, Krak and Dagens Naeringsliv, as well as newly signed Halebop, the mobile portal owned by Oracle Corp. and Telia AB. The 24/7 Media Wireless Network is expected to move into new European markets, as well as the U.S., Canada and Asia, when it will be able to provide coverage for global campaigns.
