|Lance Armstrong will endorse a chain of sports clubs.
Details were not disclosed.
The partnership includes the creation of 24 Hour Fitness Lance Armstrong Sport Clubs, the first of which will debut in Mr. Armstrong's hometown of Austin, Texas, later this year.
24 Hour Fitness will also become a sponsor of Mr. Armstrong's Discovery Network Pro Cycling Team, whose jerseys will feature the company's logo. The Discovery cable channel replaced the U.S. Postal Service as Mr. Armstrong's main sponsor. He said recently that if Discovery wants him to ride in the Tour de France again this summer, he will do so.
In addition, 24 Hour Fitness will also become a corporate partner of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which helps fight cancer. Mr. Armstrong is a cancer survivor.
Mr. Armstrong joins three other athletes who have also partnered with 24 Hour Fitness. Basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson launched a string of 24 Hour Fitness Magic Johnson Sport Clubs in 2001, followed by tennis ace Andre Agassi in 2004. Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal's clubs will open later this year.
