(May 30, 2001) -- New research by DoubleClick division Diameter, New York, found that more than 37 million Internet users purchased travel packages online.

Using the @plan advertising media intelligence tool, the data showed that 32% of 25 to 34 year olds purchased travel packages online, compared to 25% of 55 year olds and 20% of 18 to 24 year olds.

The research also showed that more than 56 million online reward program members purchased or reserved travel online 54% more than the average Internet user. -- Adrienne Mand
