3Com partners with AltaVista Radio

In a move to make access to Internet radio simpler, 3Com Corp. is offering a single source for online listeners through a new partnership with AltaVista Co.'s AltaVista Radio, powered by RadioAMP, a provider of custom Web audio solutions. AltaVista Radio's 150 audio channels, with 180,000 songs categorized by genre, are now available from the music category on 3Com's Kerbango Tuning Service, a directory for access to Internet audio. AltaVista Radio's audio content also will serve as the foundation for 3Com's soon to be released stand-alone Kerbango Internet Radio, which will enable consumers to listen to Web radio without any connection to a personal computer. The agreement enables 3Com to use audio content from RadioAMP's other clients, including CDNOW Radio, iWon Radio, NBCi Radio and Prodigy DSL Radio.
