3Com to tout problem solving

Published on .

3Com Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., entered creative development with agency partner Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide, New York, on its estimated $100 million ad campaign that will begin in August. 3Com, which has refocused its networking solutions business to target consumers and small businesses, plans to position itself as a company that's "all about solving real people's problems through our products and services,'' said Jan Soderstrom, senior VP-worldwide marketing. "We're all about individuals connecting to the network, to one another,'' she said at a June 27 media gathering demonstrating 3Com's Internet network solutions at its Digital Home in New York. 3Com's HomeConnect Home Network Gateway, which allows consumers to share an always-on Internet connection and connect multiple PCs in the home, ships in late July for an estimated $249. A new Internet appliance, dubbed Ergo will launch in the fourth quarter; no pricing was available.
