9. Ivan Zacharias, Stink, London

Published on .

While still a student at Prague's renowned film academy FAMU, Ivan Zacharias was asked to direct commercials, music videos and documentaries, and quickly developed a reputation for intelligent and cinematic direction. Represented by Smuggler in the U.S., Zacharias has enjoyed success on both sides of the pond this year with ads for Coca-Cola, Orange, "Truth," VW and the Royal Marines. His astonishingly captivating "Doctor," for Stella Artois and Lowe/London looks set to be a heavyweight contender at Cannes this year, as it won Best Television Commercial at the British Television Advertising Awards and a Silver for Cinematography at D&AD. This month, Zacharias is set to shoot a Levi's spot through Bartle Bogle Hegarty/New York. A future ambition is to venture into music videos and short films.
