9 shops compete for Bacardi account

Nine agencies will participate in a creative shootout for the Bacardi light rum brand. They are Amster Yard; DDB; Berlin, Cameron & Partners; Cliff Freeman & Partners; Mezzina/Brown; Warwick Baker O'Neill, all New York; McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco. Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York, last week resigned the creative portion of the Bacardi rums account estimated at $15 million but retains the media portion of the account. AAR/Bob Wolf Partners, Los Angeles and New York, is the consultant.
