A-B claims share gain

Anheuser-Busch's overall market share increased one percentage point in the beer category to reach 45% in 1996, the company reported today. The company's 30 brands accounted for 91.1 million barrels last year, a 4.1% increase over 1995's 87.5 million barrels. A-B's growth came largely at the expense of Miller Brewing Co. and Adolph Coors Co., which both saw share declines last year.
