A-B halts Calif. promo

Published on .

Bowing to a June 30 state court order, Anheuser-Busch has halted TV, radio and print advertising for a California reward promotion that kicked off in May. California regulators alleged in court that the Budweiser promotion broke state laws that ban giveaways tied to alcoholic beverage sales. A-B wholesalers are responsible for placing stickers noting the promo's suspension on in-store displays. A-B will seek to reinstate the promo in a July 15 court hearing.
