Court TV ratings fall dramatically

Published on .

In the week following the end of the O.J. Simpson murder trial, ratings for Court TV have fallen to half of what they were a year ago, when the trial was just beginning. For the week ending Oct. 15, Court TV's prime-time Nielsen rating fell to a 0.1. That compares with a 1.0 rating for the first three weeks of the season.

CNN also experienced some ratings erosion, but not nearly as severely. CNN averaged a 1.5 rating for the week ended Oct. 15, which is off from the 2.2 rating it averaged during the first three weeks of the season. However, CNN is still up 50% over the 1 rating it averaged for the same week a year ago.
