Underscoring its position as the market leader, The Ad Age Group has hired senior publishing professional Vanessa Reed to strategically maximize growth across all areas of business.

Ms. Reed joins the Ad Age Group in the new position of general manager-sales and marketing. She was formerly associate publisher at Advance Magazine Publishers' Glamour. Her appointment follows hot on the heels of the promotion of Allison Price Arden to general manager-interactive business and custom programs, and reflects a strong investment in the group's business and responsiveness to changes in the marketing and media industries.

Ms. Reed, who has also held senior management positions at U.S. News & World Report, People and TV Guide, will help the Ad Age Group devise a strategic marketing plan and will also help to more closely integrate the positioning, branding and sales of all the group's properties: Advertising Age, Ad Age.com, Creativity, Adcritic.com, Printcritic.com and Madison + Vine.

Ad Age Group VP-Publisher Jill Manee commented: "Vanessa has always brought great enthusiasm, energy and creative thinking to those publishers she has worked for. She has helped publications strengthen their marketing position and strategies. In today's increasingly integrated, cross-platform publishing environment, strategic marketing is key to the continued growth of a business and brand."
