AAAA names O’Brien top D.C. lobbyist

The American Association of Advertising Agencies is naming veteran ad exec Richard F. O'Brien its top Washington lobbyist, succeeding retiring exec VP Hal Shoup. Mr. O'Brien, who most recently was exec VP of the Special Olympics, worked extensively for Grey Advertising and Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide. At Saatchi, he was at various times vice chairman and director of worldwide client services; he also was worldwide account director for Procter & Gamble. Mr. O'Brien will assume the post upon Mr. Shoup's retirement March 31.
