Absolut Citron launches online grants program

Published on .

Absolut Vodka's Absolut Citron has launched Absolut Angel, a grants program designed to identify artists with creative concepts that show how the digital age will mix artistic expression with technology. The program will run online. Absolut's traditional agency, TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, worked with Red Sky Interactive, San Francisco, the interactive agency that designed Absolut Vodka's Web site, to develop the interactive program. A board of reviewers, including Fred Wilson and Jerry Colonna, co-founders-managing partners, Flatiron Partners; Sam Holdsworth, founding partner, Cassandra Chase Entertainment Partners; David Bohnett, founder of GeoCities; John Couch, design director, Wired magazine, will judge submissions. Three winners from six semi-finalists will each receive $50,000 as seed money to help develop their concepts. A print campaign promoting the program from TBWA/Chiat/Day will break next month in U.S. News & World Report, Forbes and Wired.
