Absolut vodka has taken the grand tour. Munich, Rome, Lisbon, Amsterdam and London are among the 20 cities featured in a 44-page advertising section in Newsweek International's Dec. 12 issue. "Absolut Cities of Europe" is the title for the section. Each city has a spread, with an Absolut bottle masquerading as a familiar icon of the locale on the right-hand pages, like German lederhosen and a Roman fountain with the ubiquitous moped. The left hand pages offer guides to the cities' hot spots, put together by local writers and photographers. The spreads, developed by Absolut agency TBWA, Paris, and Newsweek International's special projects department, originally ran earlier this year in the magazine's European edition in the third cover position.
