Two $30 million-plus accounts have gone into review in Europe even as another review comes to an end. Bertelsmann entertainment unit BMG Entertainment International invited three agencies to pitch for the $50 million to $80 million pan-European media account for its record labels. Two of the contenders are London-based Carat and OMD Media. The account previously was handled by up to 12 agencies.

In Spain, state tobacco company Tabacalera is reviewing its $30 million media account. Contenders include Carat, Equimedia, Media Direction, Media Planning, Optimedia and incumbent CIA Medianet-work.

Notching a win are TBWA's offices in Duesseldorf and Paris, which have picked up Agfa Gevaert's business in Germany and France, ending McCann-Erickson Worldwide's hold on Agfa's $30 million pan-European consumer business. The marketer of photography film equipment also appointed Luders BBDO, Cologne, to handle corporate business in Germany. Grey Advertising's MediaCom handles Agfa's media in Germany.
