Detroit Edison awarded its estimated $2 million account to McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Troy, Mich., after a review. Incumbent Ross Roy Communications, Bloomfield Hills resigned Edison and other accounts last summer to become a Chrysler-only shop.

Unicare Life & Health Insurance Co., Woodland Hills, Calif., to Rubin Postaer & Associates, Santa Monica, for its $7 million brand account, which the client says will expand to $30 million by 1999.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Providence, to Rivers Doyle Walsh, Providence, from Pagano Schenck & Kay, Boston, for the $2 million account.
