BMW of North America, Woodcliff Lake, N.J., hired Roth Associates, Chappaqua, N.Y., to consult in the search for an agency of record for its U.S. Mini car division account. The updated version of the nostalgic car goes on sale here in early 2002.

Thomas Weisel Partners, a San Francisco-based investment bank, to Gardner Geary Coll as first agency on its account, with spending anticipated in excess of $5 million. In a separate review, Scudder Weisel, an online private bank backed by Thomas Weisel Partners and Scudder Kemper Investments, to Citron Haligman Bedecarre for an account with anticipated spending of $5 million to $10 million.
