Grey Advertising, New York, on Thursday resigned the approximately $2 million account of trading card maker Topps Co., which it had since 1993, citing the company's redirection of expenditures into promotions.

Novell, Provo, Utah, consolidated its $50 million global media business with Young & Rubicam, San Francisco, dropping Martha Felt Group, Salt Lake City, for U.S. media buying. Y&R also has Novell's global creative account.

American Portable Telecom to Korey, Kay & Partners, Chicago, for its new $12 million to $15 million cellular business account.

Fetzer Vineyards to Gardner, Geary, Coll & Young, San Francisco, from Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, for its $4 million account.

Aspen Skiing has returned its $4 million account to Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco, which lost the business when the account went in-house in 1992.
