SBC Communications, San Antonio, Texas, as expected, named GSD&M, Austin, for its estimated $70 million account for nationwide wireless communications operations. The agency will develop ads for Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems and Cellular One brands. Separately, SBC has narrowed a review for its long-distance business to three agencies: D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, St. Louis; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco; and Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York. DMB&B is agency of record for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
Etonic, Brockton, Mass., athletic shoe marketer, consolidated its ad accounts at Greenberg Seronick & Partners, Boston, which has the golf shoe division. Other work on the estimated $3 million to $5 million accounts had been handled on a project basis.
