Rally's Hamburgers Inc. shifted its $12 million account to Mendelsohn/Zien, Los Angeles, from McCabe & Co., New York. Mendelsohn/Zien also handles Carl Karcher Enterprises' Carl's Jr. chain, which recently purchased an interest in Rally's.

Slim Patch, a new diet aid from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Medical Research Industries, to Courtney & Watson, Miami Beach, and its Hispanic division, Courtney Watson Guim Latino, for the estimated $12 million general and Hispanic market account. test marketing and roll-out of the appetite suppressant diet aid. The agency will test infomercials and TV spots for the appetite suppressant, with a roll-out anticipated by early 1997.

BMW reportedly has appointed Cordiant's Zenith Media to handle Rover/BMW's $90 million centralized media account in the U.K., starting Jan. 1. Zenith, which already handles Rover cars' $82 million account in the U.K., is believed to have beaten out WCRS, London, which handles BMW's media in the U.K.
