[new york] Advertising Age has promoted Judann Pollack, its Chicago bureau chief, to assistant managing editor.

In her new post, Ms. Pollack will be more involved in the editorial management and production of the weekly publication while retaining her current duties. Those includes reporting on food and tobacco marketing.

Ms. Pollack joined Ad Age in New York in 1985 as an editorial assistant and soon began covering package-goods products. After a brief stint with Campbell Soup Co. in the early '90s, she rejoined Crain Communications Inc. as managing editor of Advertising Age International, based in Chicago, and later became Ad Age features editor. In 1996, she returned to New York as deputy bureau chief, and the next year moved back to Chicago as bureau chief.
