This ad for Second Harvest from J. Walter Thompson USA, New York, is part of a massive 10-year public service initiative from the Ad Council called "Commitment 2000: Raising a Better Tomorrow." The effort will focus exclusively on improving the lives of U.S. youth. Ad Council and Time Inc. Chairman Reginald Brack called it a "D-Day scale assault on the problems facing children."
