Measured ad spending rose 2.3% in January, below the 3% growth for full-year '05. Spanish-language TV showed big gains. TNS doesn't track Internet paid search ads, but other Net spending rose $125 million. Local newspapers fell $86 million.

JetBlue's first plane took flight in Feb. 2000, and the upstart airline went public four years ago just months after 9/11. But the once high-flying stock has plummeted as the airline grapples with rising fuel prices and other challenges. JetBlue in Q4 posted its first loss as a public company. Still, the stock is up 30% from its IPO. Over that period, the overall market rose 25%; rivals American rose 7% and Southwest fell 4%.

The AdMarket closed at a two-month low. The market-wide Wilshire 5000 slipped from its April 5 level, its highest point since 2001.
