Published on .

Three former executives of AdForce, a Web ad management company, formed Winfire, a Newport Beach, Calif., consumer Internet software maker. The new venture was started by CEO David Kopp, a former AdForce director of product management; Chairman-Chief Technical Officer Chad Steelberg, former CEO and co-founder of AdForce; and director Ryan Steelberg, also co-founder of AdForce. Winfire this summer will unveil its product, a free, downloadable "Personalized BrowserAssistant" that will allow users to control and customize their Web experience. Winfire is pursuing partnership deals with content and e-commerce Web sites.
