HERRZOGENAURACH, Germany--Sporting goods marketer adidas-Salomon has hired David Husselbee as global director of social and environmental affairs. Mr. Husselbee, a British national, will move to Germany from Pakistan, where he worked for Save the Children Fund. In that role, Mr. Husselbee was instrumental in the successful implementation of the program developed by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry to abolish child labor in the manufacture of soccer balls. "The appointment of David Husselbee is a major step for us in our efforts to ensure that adidas products are manufactured under socially and environmentally appropriate conditions all over the world," says Manfred Ihle, the company's general counsel.
