Adidas-Salomon replaces French boss with two

HERZOGENAURACH--Adidas-Salomon has appointed twomanaging directors in France in a return to a managementconcept which the company says has proved "highly efficientand successful" both at European regional management leveland in several local European markets, such as the U.K.,Germany, Benelux and Spain.

Gil Steyaert, in charge of marketing, and Antoine Sathicq,responsible for sales and operations, succeed Yves Marchandwho has been managing director of adidas-Sarragan France fortwo years. He has resigned from the group, after having successfully completed a restructuring of the French operation,according to adidas-Salomon.

Mr. Steyaert, 36, has joined adidas from Kellogg France,where he was marketing director for France, the Netherlandsand Belgium. Mr. Sathicq, 38, has been with adidas since 1997,most recently as field sales director at adidas-Sarragan France.

"By returning to the management concept with two managingdirectors for sales and marketing respectively, we expect tobecome even more focused in both areas, resulting in morecustomer-oriented operations in France," says Herbert Hainer,member of the executive board of adidas-Salomon, in chargeof sales for both Europe and Asia-Pacific.
