Ads escape Kodak budget cuts

Published on .

Eastman Kodak Co. said it will cut costs by $1 billion through 1999 and lay off approximately 10,000 employees worldwide. The company will not cut its advertising budget and plans to continue its investment into digital technology. Third quarter consumer imaging sales were flat compared to the same period last year, with a 5% sales increase in U.S. balanced by a 5% loss internationally.
