AdSmart sees problems with sales staff

Published on .

Bill Jaris, former director of advertising sales at CMG's AdSmart, is said to have left the company, which has lost about four ad sales reps in recent months. AdSmart claims it has close to 15 sites in its network and just signed Microsoft Corp. as its first advertiser. Wholly-owned by CMG Information Services, AdSmart originally had planned to launch an ad management product last fall but plans changed. CMG is an investor in other Web companies including Lycos, Planet Direct, GeoCities and the now-defunct Freemark Communications.
