ADVANTAGE EVOLVES FOR BLOCKBUSTER

Blockbuster Video launched new advertising last week, while at the same time sponsoring the American Film Institute's 18-month celebration of the 100th anniversary of American movies. The campaign, from Y&R Advertising, New York, continues Blockbuster's "Go home happy" theme. Each of the six new :30s highlights a Blockbuster feature; in "Waiting," a life form evolves into several species, from jellyfish to couch potato, while waiting for a movie to reach pay-per-view. Renting from Blockbuster would have been faster.
