Online ad spending dipped 5% in February, the first time spending has dipped since last August 2000, according to AdZone Interactive, an Internet measurement comapny.

AdZone claims to measure spending on 2,500 sites that make up 95% of all Internet ad revenue. AdZone says online advertising amounted to $1.7 billion in February, down 5% from January. Overall, it said spending is up 206% from the $859.1 million spent in online advertising in February 2000.
