Aer Lingus joins Web auction rush

Published on .

Aer Lingus, Ireland's airline, is the latest to auction off seats on flights via the Internet. Bidders can go to the airline's site to bid on specific flights daily. Minimum bid is $200 per roundtrip. Aer Lingus is one of several airlines that are experimenting with unloading unsold seats online. Travelers willing to travel at short notice can get fares that are significantly cheaper than those through travel agents.
