AFL-CIO readies $60 mil consumer campaign

The executive board of the AFL-CIO, readying for a major organizing push, approved spending $60 million for an ad campaign aimed at convincing consumers and workers of the value of unions. The campaign will be the first major consumer-directed AFL-CIO effort since the "Union yes" campaign of the early '80s. The AFL-CIO has opened a review for the account.
