(July 23, 2001) -- Six weeks after Denver-based software maker J.D. Edwards announced an account review, a number of agencies have sent in proposals.

Shops competing for the $15 million to $25 million account include Omnicom Group's Merkley Newman Harty, New York; Bcom3 Group's Leo Burnett Technology Group, Chicago; Interpublic Group of Cos.' Deutsch, Los Angeles; Martin/Williams, Minneapolis; and incumbent neoBrand, Costa Mesa, Calif.

The assignment will include a brand awareness and image campaign, as well as print and online work. A spokesman for J.D. Edwards said a decision is expected by the end of August. -- Lisa Sanders
