Air New Zealand moves local work to BBDO

AUCKLAND -- Clemenger BBDO Sydney and the network's wholly owned New Zealand agency, Colenso, have been reallocated about $7 million worth of business from Air New Zealand's local $8 million account, from Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland, which retains a small project. The moves follow a brief pitch between the three Air New Zealand rostered agencies.

The airline is currently reviewing its entire $40 million international business with its ros tered agencies, saying it would like to consolidate the account with one network -- presumably either BBDO or Saatchi.

AirNZ public affairs officer Cameron Hill has described the review as "business as usual" and would not discuss the latest moves. Industry sources say Clemenger/Colenso won the account on the basis of its creative pitch. Colenso will handle the bulk of the account.
