Alamo soups up its site

Published on .

Alamo Rent A Car upgraded its 2-year-old Web site (www.goalamo.com) in the wake of new deals with AT&T Corp. and USA Today. The AT&T deal lets visitors click on an icon on Alamo's site to reach an Alamo agent by phone. Coming soon: The agent will be able to send messages about Alamo services to the Web browser's screen. Alamo also joined USA Today's Travel Marketplace, an online travel service. The newspaper's travel site is linked to Alamo and other travel vendors. Alamo's in-house staff worked with New River Technologies, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., company that designed Alamo's original site.
