"This appointment represents the continuation of our commitment to the future of both MPG and Havas," Mr. Rodes said in the statement. "The current media landscape is filled with opportunities and I look forward to working with our management teams to ensure that we continue to drive the company and its people forward."

Previously MPG Spain CEO
Mr. Rodes was previously CEO of MPG Spain and southern Europe. He will serve in both CEO roles until his successor for Spain and southern Europe is named.

Mr. Rodes entered the company in 1996 as the head of corporate development and has served as the CEO for MPG's sports network, Havas Sports, in 2001. His father, Leopoldo Rodes Castane, founded MPG in 1978, and is a nonexecutive director on Havas' board.

Advertising Age reported on the likelihood of Mr. Rodes ascension earlier in May following his brother's appointment.
