HONG KONG -- Alfred Dunhill Asia Pacific has awarded its $33 million ad account for Hong Kong, China and pan-regional business to M&C Saatchi, Hong Kong, and its media partner Carat Asia Pacific.

The assignment, won in a competitive pitch, does not affect the position of Bartle Bogle Hegarty, London, as lead strategic and creative A.O.R. of Batey Ads, which handles the South Asian and Taiwan accounts.

Charles Brian-Boys, regional director - marketing services for Alfred Dunhill Asia Pacific, says M&C was appointed because it could provide a through- the-line resource and its executives proved able to work well with Dunhill staff in the individual markets, at the London headquarters and in the regional office.

Michael Moszynski, CEO of M&C, Hong Kong, attributes the development of a "positive working relationship" partly to the fact that the client set the agency "live" projects to work on for the pitch.
