Alive signs up for broadband distribution with Pacific Century

Alive Networks, an Asian travel network distributed via TV, the Internet, mobile devices and printed travel guides, has completed its first major distribution deal with the broadband satellite service Pacific Century Matrix, a TV and telecom convergence joint venture between Pacific Century Group and European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co.

Alive Networks, which was founded last November in Hong Kong by Chairman-CEO Ian Henry, an Asian Internet veteran and co-founder of Chinadotcom Corp., joins PCM's bouquet of TV and data services transmitted from Hong Kong via the AsiaSat 3S satellite.

Alive's TV content is delivered in two distinct but complementary streams: travel and leisure, including holidays and special activity options, destinations, food, adventure, shopping, fashion and style; and learning and self-improvement subjects, such as cooking, photography, languages and health and fitness. In addition to its TV service, Alive plans to release its Internet sites shortly, followed by mobile device products and printed travel guides later in the year.
