Allied snares Stolichnaya from UDV

Allied Domecq Spirits & Wines said it obtained U.S. distribution rights for Stolichnaya Russian vodka, the No. 2 imported vodka after Absolut, effective Jan. 1. United Distillers & Vintners currently handles Stolichnaya. Margeotes/Fertitta & Partners, New York, is the Stolichnaya agency. Allied said it plans to support the brand with a budget of as much as $24 million. It also said it will have right of first refusal to renew the U.S. rights as well as right of first refusal over Stolichanya distribution and trademark rights as they become available abroad.
