Published on .

BERLIN--U.S. car insurance company Allstate Direct has moved its estimated $10 million advertising account in Germany to McCann-Erickson Worldwide from D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Hamburg, following a pitch. McCann is preparing a TV and print campaign that will break in October. Media continues to be handled by D'Arcy's media arm, MediaVest.

Allstate opened in Berlin in 1996 with 30 staff and today 300 employees help insure 60,000 cars. By 2001, Allstate Direct hopes to become the leading direct insurer in Germany. The company recently opened a unit in Italy.
