(June 12, 2001) -- Search engine Alta Vista, Palo Alto, Calif., announced today it has launched a new search software. The new software architecture enables data to be organized in 30 languages and more than 200 file formats, regardless of where it resides in a company's organization. Two other new products are AV Enterprise Search, which supports employees inside the corporate firewall by allowing them to search for information wherever it resides on company servers, and AV Personal search, a desktop productivity tool that provides search results from content on local hard drives. They all work with AltaVista Search Engine 3.0. Alta vista is owned by Internet holding company CMGI. -- Adrienne Mand
