Published on .

Amazon.com became the premier book merchant for Yahoo! World sites Sept. 2, including Yahoo! in Asia, U.K. and Ireland, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea. Amazon.com merchant buttons will be featured on numerous international sites, and related keyword searches will pull up relevant book selections and categories.

Yahoo! also beefed up its local offerings with Yahoo! Get Local, which is an expanded site that absorbs the local programming of Yahoo! Metros. The new site will offer sports, weather, news, Yellow Pages and white pages from local communities and cities across the U.S.
