America Online, CareInsite form multiyear strategic alliance

Published on .

America Online and CareInsite, an interactive healthcare network services company, announced a strategic alliance that aims to streamline the flow of information within the healthcare system. Under the more than $30 million agreement, AOL and CareInsite will create co-branded sites enabling AOL members to communicate with their own healthcare providers, insurers, health maintenance organizations, covered pharmacies and labs. AOL will offer the CareInsite services exclusively to all AOL services subscribers. AOL and CareInsite will also collaborate in sales and marketing to the healthcare industry, and the companies intend to leverage their alliance into cross-promotional and shared advertising revenue opportunities.
