American Baby buys Baby Faire

Primedia's American Baby Group, New York, purchased Baby Faire Inc.,Winchester, Mass., a series of consumer exposition for young families. Thebusiness was acquired from Kim Whitaker, who founded the company in 1992.Baby Faire conducts shows in six markets: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Miami,southern California and Washington. Attendance ranges from 12,000 to 20,000people per show. Baby Faire becomes part of the American Baby Group, whichpublishes six magazines, produces two TV shows and two Web sites, and runsfour sampling businesses.
