American Express breaks new outdoor ads

American Express Co., New York, this week breaks an outdoor campaign in New York and Los Angeles featuring a wide range of celebrities who are AmEx cardmembers. The ads will feature the card's background design and "member since" date but willinclude neither the celebrity's name nor the AmEx logo. The campaign, from Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, will run with the tag "Are you a cardmember?" Featured celebrities include ad agency luminaries Lee Clow and David Ogilvy as well as film director Martin Scorsese and golf pro Tiger Woods. Spending was not disclosed.
